I find myself being propelled into the world of blogging so I can share my art and craft of bookbinding and box making. Over the Christmas holidays I found some beautiful cotton paper and decided to create small journals, the kind you can carry in your purse or computer bag. Always on the lookout for ways to decorate a book, I tried drawing on the cotton paper and found it to be very compatible with my India Ink pens. The colours of the India Ink are visually satisfying, while the texture of the paper is pleasing to the touch. The black pen on white paper offers a clean and simple contrast.

About Me
- Mary
- Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
- I am a bookbinder and book artist. I have had a love affair with books since the age of 12, when I bought my first collection of books with my paper route money. Since then I have learned the art and craft of making books. I get great pleasure working with paper, creating unique designs around and with found objects, and making replicas of things I find in every day life. I studied bookbinding and papermaking at the Ottawa School of Art and bookbinding and box making through the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild. As an adult educator I enjoy teaching bookbinding and box making. I am an active member of the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artist Guild and the Ontario Crafts Council.
